Growing Together: Early Booking & Last Call for $80 Unlimited

I’ll be honest — I love the freedom and spontaneity of signing up for things at the last minute. I also get frustrated when studios require you to sign up hours in advance. More than once, I’ve skipped a class entirely because of that rule. So I truly understand why many of you prefer the flexibility of last-minute sign-ups, and I don’t want to completely take that option away.

That said, for the health and growth of our studio, we need to start building a little more consistency in how we book our classes.

When I was the only instructor, I didn’t mind running a class for one or two people. But now that we have multiple amazing instructors, we need enough students in each class to make it sustainable and keep those classes on the schedule.

1. New Scheduling Policy

Starting next week, I’ll be confirming or canceling classes 8 hours before start time:

  • Morning classes – Confirmed the night before (around 10 PM).

  • Evening classes – Confirmed at 10 AM the same day.

If a class meets our minimum of 4 sign-ups by the confirmation time, it’s a go and you’ll receive an automatic “Class is On!” email about 7 hours before class.

If we don’t meet the minimum, the class will be canceled, and everyone will be notified and either rescheduled or get a class credit.

I know 4 sounds like a lot — but that’s my magic “keep the lights on and the rent paid” number. Fewer than that, and I’m basically paying you to take class… which, as much as I adore you, is not a sustainable business plan.

Cancellation policy:

  • All cancellations must be made before the 8-hour cut-off.

  • I’m going to have to grow a spine here and stop manually rescheduling everyone. 😭

  • You can still no-show/shoot me a text if something comes up, but it will be recorded as if you attended for bookkeeping purposes.

  • Last-minute cancellations will not cause a class to be canceled once it’s set. (except for like tornados/acts of God🌪️🌪️ ).

Why this helps:

  • Students and instructors know earlier if a class will run.

  • Gives everyone time to adjust their plans.

  • Encourages early booking so we can keep your favorite classes on the schedule.

  • Lets us figure out what’s working so we can double down on the crowd favorites.

2. Belly Dance Sign-Up Policy

During the school year, Mona’s belly dance class is not a weekly drop-in class.

  • You must sign up for all 4 weeks in the month.

  • You can try 1–2 single classes, but if you decide to commit, you’ll be added to the rest of the month’s classes so we can build skills together.

  • If you’re on the $50/month 4 class subscription and I know you’re a regular belly dance student, you don’t need to register for each class individually — just show up. You’ve already paid, and space isn’t limited the way it is for pole classes.

(If you’re not on the subscription, you can also pay $50 cash at the beginning of the month to join a weekly belly dance classes for that month.)

  • We may offer ‘bonus’ belly dance classes that focus on specific skills ( like fan Veils) those will be one- off sign ups and follow the regular scheduling rules.

3. Membership Updates — Effective October 1st

I haven’t yet paid myself for teaching any classes — which is one of the reasons I’ve been able to offer the Unlimited Membership for only $80/month. Now that we have more lovely instructors (and not all of them are volunteers, though some are!), I need to update our membership structure so we can cover costs, pay our instructors fairly, and keep the schedule strong.

The Unlimited Membership will stay at $80/month through September 30th. If you sign up before October 1st, you can keep that $80/month rate through at least the end of 2026.

Starting October 1st, the Unlimited Membership will be $120/month — perfect for students who attend 3–4+ classes a week and want maximum flexibility.

New Option: For those who attend 1–2 times a week, we’re introducing an 8-Class Membership at the same popular $80 price point.

  • Includes up to 8–10 classes per month.

  • Comes with a 30% off coupon code for any extra drop-in classes if you run out before the month ends.

What You Can Do Now

  • Book early so your class is set to run — plus, you’ll know sooner if a class isn’t going ahead, giving you more time to adjust your plans.

  • If you love the Unlimited plan at $80, lock it in before September 30th.

  • Try the new 8-Class Membership for flexibility and discounted extras.

Thanks for helping keep our classes consistent and full of great energy. Your early sign-ups really do make all the difference!
