Pole class flow chart, Class swap, Doubles workshop and Podcast with Erin!
I couldn’t sleep last night because I realized all the beginner-friendly classes were stacked on Tuesdays… and all the more challenging ones on Thursdays. Which basically meant we were all going to perish by the end of summer. 😅
Simple fix: I’ve swapped the Level 1 Pole Fitness class on Tuesdays with the Pole Choreography class on Thursdays starting the second week of June. Crisis averted. Carry on.
UPDATED SCHEDULE:
I’ve been thinking a lot about how to better guide new students to the right class. One challenge is that my Intro to Pole class often includes a wide range of fitness levels—some students expect more beginner tricks, while others feel discouraged when even simple spins are difficult.
Pole is hard and takes real strength, but the grounded, dance-based side of pole doesn’t require much upper body strength—and honestly, it’s one of my favorite parts. There’s so much you can do without ever climbing, sitting, or spinning.
If you’re already in shape and more interested in the athletic, trick-based side of pole, you might be ready to start with Level 1 Pole Fitness instead.
To make things easier, I’ve created the following graphic to help you decide where to begin.
Speaking of pole and strength—Erin was recently featured on the Starting Strength podcast! Many of you know Erin as both a dedicated weightlifter and an active member of our studio and dance troupe. The episode is full of great tips for women in strength-based sports, and it even includes a glowing shout-out to the studio!
I listened to it while folding laundry.😊 Definitely worth a listen!
JUNE WORKSHOP - Beginner Pole Doubles
Schedule update! I accidentally booked a floorwork workshop on June 6th... which also happens to be my anniversary. Oops. 😅 So that workshop is cancelled (marriage > floorwork, just this once).
But good news! I’ve added a Doubles Pole Workshop on Saturday, June 21st instead.
I know just enough about doubles to be dangerous—but I’m brushing up and getting ready to explore some fun, simple partner shapes and tricks with you. Come experiment, laugh, and probably tangle yourselves up in the best way possible. 💪💃
